Car subwoofer making crackling noise

  • Check Wire Connections. One of the most frequent causes of a loss of sound is loose or disconnected wiring. Remove the stereo cover. Unscrew the mounting screws. Gently lift the radio out. Follow the wires from the back of the stereo. Make certain each wire is connected.

All I could do was turn the volume all the way down to make it stop. The digital out still works for my 4 subwoofers off from one ma audio 1000w rms... that still works ffine It also makes a popping noise.
